Eric Olson is a Particle Characterization Chemist V. Eric joined Particle Technology Labs in 2009 as Senior Chemist. Prior to joining PTL, Mr. Olson started as an Analytical Chemist with the Pharmaceutical Product Development Division at Eli Lilly. There, he drew upon his earlier experience at Cabot Corporation in the production and characterization of fine particles, aerogels, dispersions, applications group support, and method and instrument development.
At Eli Lilly, Mr. Olson assisted with cGMP instrument qualification and chemical characterization using spectroscopic techniques for reference standard characterization in support of Manufacturing Science and Technology. As Senior Analytical Chemist in Lilly's Global Quality Unit, Mr. Olson was responsible for method development, transfer, validation, and verification of chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, which were used in anti-counterfeiting. He was also responsible for all instrument qualifications and was the lead chemist for the group.
Mr. Olson is a member of the American Chemical Society, ACS Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry, the Society of Applied Spectroscopy, Council for Near-Infrared Spectroscopy, the Coblenz Society, and the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Studies. Mr. Olson holds an M.S. in Physical Chemistry with an emphasis on Computational Chemistry and Quantum Mechanics from Illinois State University '01. His undergraduate work was at Northern Illinois University and Illinois Central College.
